The Prepared Foods CSA (Community Supported Foods – CSF) at Alice’s Kitchen is designed to provide a delicious and nourishing selection of foods to households of varying sizes and appetites. Members commit to a full 11-week season of weekly meal deliveries. Members may opt-out one of those weeks at no charge, and are also welcome to donate one or more weeks to a friend or neighbor (with advance notice). Payments (checks or cash) can be made weekly, monthly, or per cycle. The cost is $90 per week including tax and including delivery for folks on our route. Each Thursday, members will receive an email or phone call from Alice with the week’s meal choices. By the end of Saturday night, members will place orders for food to be delivered or picked up on Tuesday evening or Wednesday. Each delivery includes 12 menu items chosen from about 30 selections, providing approximately 24 or more portions, depending on appetite.
The prepared food will be delivered in reusable glass containers and left in a cooler with ice packs or brought inside and placed in a fridge (with member’s approval). We insure a food-safe temperature at time of delivery; members will assume responsibility for food after the drop-off. Members will also get a check list of the containers included with each delivery. The previous week’s clean containers and checklist will be picked up with the next delivery. There is no deposit or charge for containers as long as they are returned each week.
Delivery is included for those customers who live close to our delivery route. People can also pick up their meals at Honey Hill Homestead.
Members are also welcome to order additional amounts of any of the week’s food items; we will send a bill for anything ordered in addition to the 12 units.
